Women’s World Day of Prayer 2016

John Bell Weekend

John Bell of the Iona Community is a hymn writer, Church of Scotland minister, broadcaster, and travels the world teaching on worship, spirituality and social justice. The weekend of 13/14th February 2016 will be devoted to Celebrating the Church’s Song, and will be comprised of singing workshops and worship led by John Bell at Ruxley and Stoneleigh Methodist Churches. Periodic Electrical Testing – Half term closure

You probably know (from the little green labels on plugs) that all our portable electrical equipment is tested each year. Our Insurers also expect us to test the fixed wiring (lights, sockets etc) about every five years, looking for any problems that old age may have created. At our last Quinquennial inspection we were reminded that our last test was in 2004, since when there have been a number of changes made to our wiring. Christmas Parade & Toy Service Sunday 13th December 10:30am

Our annual service heralding the approach of Christmas, and an opportunity to bring toys and goods for those less fortunate than ourselves. The donations are distributed to schools and homes in the Whitechapel area for disadvantaged families. The service will be followed by a Bring & Buy Sale in the Link Room in support of the Whitechapel Mission; please come and support this great charity and enjoy coffee and refreshments.
