From our New Minister

Dear friends,

It is with great joy that I add a voice ‘from the minister’ to the newsletter. This September is a new beginning for all of us in different ways. We are all on the same journey – starting together the new Methodist Year; I hope it’s exciting for children who are starting nursery/preschool; going on to reception; juniors; sixth form; Uni/College; new job etc.

emmaplusAs a family we are equally looking forward to living and being part of the neighbourhood; a new school for Nana, new friends and colleagues.
This summer and for the first time, we visited Grenada and it was a lovely holiday which we enjoyed being part of the West Indies Culture – the people, food, environment, the beaches etc. And although we were part of them, we were also individuals and this is the highlight of this newsletter.
That, as individual Christians, we come together as a church to learn, pray, worship and grow spiritually together. We come with our individual gifts to build God’s kingdom together.

I want to acknowledge with gratitude the warm welcome received from you all. The unknown person who left a bowl of blueberries; blackcurrant and a bottle of jam with the note “from your friends at Stoneleigh” was a kind gesture. The phone calls, cards and messages are all humbly received.

So, my hope is that we would all allow ourselves to grow and be directed by the power of the Holy Spirit. It is my prayer that the Lord will direct us in being a reflection of his Kingdom and most of all, to trust him each day. I am hopeful that new things will flourish therefore I conclude with what is recorded in Romans 15:13 “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope”.

Every blessing,
Emma

The Circuit Welcome Service for the Rev Emma Aikins will be at 7:30pm on Wednesday 7th September 2016 here at Stoneleigh Methodist Church.
